Congressman Dan Donovan who was elected to Congress last May in a special election with nearly 60% of the vote today released his first television ad of his re-election focusing on his work to pass a permanent extension of Zadroga benefits for 9/11 first responders and families.
The ad features testimonials from first responders discussing the importance of the Zadroga benefits and thanking Mr. Donovan for his work getting it through Congress. Immediately following his swearing-in last May, Congressman Donovan made co-sponsoring the bill his first official act. He worked closely with his colleagues and House leadership throughout the year to help garner enough support.
There are two versions of the :30 second spot airing on cable stations across the district.
“Getting a permanent extension of healthcare benefits for our 9/11 heroes was the proudest moment of my first year in Congress,” said Congressman Donovan. “We made it a top priority and didn’t stop pushing until we got it done. Sometimes people forget that 9/11 was an attack on America, not just New York, but now the people who put their lives and their health on the line will no longer have to worry about getting the care they need. They will not be forgotten.”
